How to Install Acrylic Finger Nails

Acrylic nails are a type of nail extension or nail wrap where acrylic chemicals form a hard layer over your nail. They comprise a plastic nail tip that is applied to the tip of the natural nail and then sealed with acrylics. You can also apply the acrylics directly over natural nails if the nails are long enough to support the chemical layer. Acrylic nail systems usually include an acrylic liquid and acrylic powder.
Professionals also use an acrylic bonder or primer to increase the level of adhesion to the natural nail. Acrylic nail extensions are aesthetically pleasing and give you a very polished look.

INSTRUCTIONS

Choose your nail tips by placing them on each nail and checking for a proper fit and conformity to your desired look. Clip and file them down to a perfect fit, if necessary.

2  Arrange the nail tips on your work area. Place all the matching tips for the left hand to the left of the work area and in order from pinky finger to thumb. Do the same for the right hand, placing the tips to the right of your work area.

3 Place the acrylic powder into dampen dishes and order as needed. If you are doing multiple colors, use multiple dampen dishes, one for each color.

Apply cuticle remover to your nails. Clip and push back your cuticles to create a neat, manicured base for your nail extensions.

Dampen a cotton ball with nail polish remover or acetone. Use this to thoroughly clean all traces of nail polish, cuticle remover or residue from each nail. Work from your left pinky finger to your right pinky finger.

  • Apply nail glue to the nail well area of each nail extension.
  • Place the nail extension on the tip of your natural nail. Use sufficient pressure to expel any air bubbles that may be trapped under the extension.
  • Use nail glue to fill in any gaps between the extension and the nail and to further reinforce the nail tip.
  • Dip the acrylic brush into the acrylic liquid. Tap off any excess liquid on the side of the container.
  • Dip the wet acrylic brush into the acrylic powder and allow a small ball of acrylic to form.
  • Pat the acrylic ball down onto the nail extension. Use the sides of the brush to flatten the ball into the desired shape and thickness.
  • 7  Allow the acrylic to dry completely.

Megumi Furukawa: “These days, there is no stereotypical thinking on what nail art should be. I usually design something that basically looks cute or something that makes people want to try it on rather than anything eccentric or unique and artistic. Moreover, I would be even happier if men appreciate more women wearing my nail chips and regard that as sexy, charming and sophisticated.”
According to Megumi, though stereoscopic and Japanesque designs are popular over here they are still rare in other countries. That is why foreign visitors are often puzzled to see this delicate art. Look at these works by Megumi Furukawa: nail art on a high level of sophistication!
Furukawa: “The greatest appeal of nail art lies in its way of allowing women to be feminine. Even a light manicure makes women conscious of their feminine demeanour. This is my greatest pleasure!”
